LoL: Wild Rift Rengar Guide: Best build, items, runes
How to play as Rengar in Wild Rift
In this League of Legends: Wild Rift Rengar guide you'll find everything you need to know about the champion, from his skills and how to allocate them to his build, skill combo, and runes. Here is what you will find in the Rengar guide below:Wild RIft champions that excels in the jungle, but you will occasionally spot him in the Baron lane (top lane) in the hands of someone who knows how to abuse the brush range. Rengar is, in a way, similar to Kha'Zix. He has invisibility (not permanent like Evelynn though), and he is a master at stalking his prey.
In the lore, Rengar and Kha'Zix are constantly hunting each other - which we saw in the mini-event that coincided with their release. In actual gameplay, Rengar is somewhat more of a fighter and a lot less squishy than Kha'Zix. You can build Rengar similarly though, but you can also slap a couple of tankier items on him and call it a day. He's still going to do his job.
When it comes to damage, however, once a good Rengar gets ahead, there is no turning back. This champion will obliterate enemies one after another - even in 1v5 scenarios sometimes - and use Thrill of the Hunt to its utmost extent. I have to admit, Rengar feels a lot more fun to play than Kha'Zix (at least to me) because of his passive.
League of Legends: Wild Rift Rengar skillsUnseen Predator (Passive)
Rengar leaps to his target with his next attack if he is in the brush or camouflaged. Also, casting a basic ability allows Rengar to gain Ferocity which, at a certain point, can be used to enhance his next basic ability cast.Savagery (Skill 1)
Rengar's next couple of attacks gain attack speed. The first attack deals additional physical damage. Ferocity: Rengar gains, even more, attack speed and the first attack deals additional physical damage.Battle Roar (Skill 2)
Rengar roars, deals magic damage and heals himself for some of the damage taken. Ferocity: Rengar deals magic damage and instead of partially healing himself gains movement speed and removes all crowd control effects from himself.Bola Strike (Skill 3)
Rengar throws a bola causing physical damage and slows his enemy for a couple of seconds. Ferocity: Rengar gains even more movement speed and roots his enemy instead of slowing them.Thrill of the Hunt (Skill 4 / Ultimate)
Rengar gains movement speed and reveals the nearest enemy champion for a period of time. Shortly after casting Rengar becomes camouflaged with his next attack shredding the target's armour for a period of time.
How to combo as RengarRengar's kit is pretty straightforward. You don't have a whole lot of crazy combos, which makes him a tad bit easier to plan than Kha'Zix. - Reset your auto-attacks by using Skill 1
Rengar's Skill 1 works as an auto-attack reset, but it also empowers his next basic attack (and grants additional attack speed). Remember to use this every chance you get when trading, and even when farming. It'll help a lot with your clear.- Use the brushes to your advantage
No tactic is too much when you're playing the Pridestalker. You can use the brushes in key areas (the tribush, the pixel brush, and the entire enemy jungle to stalk your enemies and catch them at their weakest point. That's pretty much how you will get ahead.
Rengar excels at battles in the jungle, so if you can carry them there, make sure to focus on the squishiest members first. The passive will help a lot at gap closing, and if you want to extend this, you can also use your Flash. It'll take a bit of practice to get it right on the first try but keep at it. It will be extremely rewarding in the end.- Skill 4 (Ultimate) -> Flash -> Auto-attack -> Skill 3 -> Skill 1 -> Skill 2 -> Skill 1
This would be your most deadly combo. You'll cast your ultimate to reveal the enemy, then it's all about the hunt. You will basically get propelled forward once you lock onto your target, and then cast Flash while in range for a surprise attack. Follow up with the auto-attack and skills combo, and 9 out of 10 enemies will be dead on the spot before they can react.
You can use a similar combo while in the brush, but without having to activate your Ultimate or Flash (thanks to the passive).
In what order to level up the skills? For Rengar, you want to max out your Skill 1 first, then follow up with Skill 3 and lastly with Skill 2.
- Level 1: Skill 1
- Level 2: Skill 2
- Level 3: Skill 3
- Level 4: Skill 1
- Level 5: Skill 4
- Level 6: Skill 1
- Level 7: Skill 1
Keep levelling Skill 1 until it's maxed, then focus on Skill 3, and lastly on Skill 2. Of course, whenever you can, you want to add 1 point into your Skill 4 (Ultimate).
The best summoner spellsSmite: Deal 440 true damage (440 - 1100) to a large or epic monster or minion. Smiting monsters restores 70 HP. Slaying 4 large monsters upgrades Smite to Chilling Smite or Challenging Smite, which can target enemy champions. (+ the bonuses from Hunting License and Tooth and Nail from Smite, that charge once every 45s) Flash: Teleport a short distance forward or towards the aimed direction.

Wild Rift Rengar - The best items
There are a few other additional items you could make great use of on Rengar, such as Black Cleaver, Maw of Malmortius and even Trinity Force (in some weird situations).Boots
The boots situation depends highly on the champions you will have to fight on the enemy team. There are 3 main types of boots you can go for on Rengar: Ionian Boots of Lucidity, Plated Steelcaps or Mercury's Treads.Stasis is a great choice if you play hyper-aggressive and dive under the enemy towers a lot. Protobelt is an alternative, which works great if the entire enemy team is squishy and you need additional dashes. Quicksilver is the last viable option, which will automatically clear you of any and all crowd controls.
