What the Car? introduces surreal new Car Dreams mode

I think if there's anything you can say about Triband's What the Car?, it's that it certainly lives up to the bizarre nature of its title. Playing as a car with legs navigating all manner of strange levels and obstacles, it's almost surprising that it's only now we're seeing the introduction of true dream levels in What the Car?

And no, that's not a metaphor. What the Car's? newest update adds a limited-time dream mode. Every other week, you will be able to jump into one of the titular car's dreams and play out a new, surreal level that twists and turns in bizarre ways.

While it's not a huge new update, it does mean that those of you regularly checking in on What the Car? will be rewarded with a host of great levels to explore at regular intervals. Although I'd struggle to see how you can get any stranger than what's already included!

Asleep at the wheel

I think it's fair to say that What the Car? is one of those releases we all wish was available outside of Apple Arcade. Triband's mixture of genuinely innovative gameplay with that irreverent and surrealist style of humour is a welcome one, but for Android players and those not subscribed to Apple's jam-packed gaming service, it's sadly unavailable.

Still, if it does manage to make its way to wider mobile platforms, we'll certainly have a huge amount of content to sift through. Here's hoping that these dreams don't turn into nightmares then!
