Kyle Barrett has announced a new update for Ultra Blade, letting players get their hands on an entirely new game mode among other exciting new additions. In particular, you can look forward to the Ultra Blade Fall 2023 Update's "Spire Mode", which spices up the gameplay ala Metroidvania style.

Along with this fresh content that transforms the game into a platformer-esque title, you can also expect to dive into a new world of your choice and pick your enemy modifiers via the "Journey Mode". This roguelike-esque mechanic adds an unexpected twist to your run with every 4 waves.

Additionally, there are 4 new challenge levels to take on, as well as a new Dungeon biome with 7 new dungeon-type foes and 1 boss. The Teleport skill has also been reworked along with other bug fixes. And finally, if you're looking for more of a hardcore experience, a new challenge core now populates each world with more difficult enemies, so you can truly put your survival skills to the test.

The developer has also published a preview of the update content on X (formerly known as Twitter), which you can see here. If you're keen on enjoying all these updates yourself, you can download Ultra Blade on the iOS App Store and on the Google Play Store for Android devices. It's a premium title that costs $2.99 a pop or your local equivalent.
