Developer Exient has announced its latest collaboration with Playstation Studios, bringing the loveable star of the Little Big Planet series, Sackboy, to mobile with the new endless runner Ultimate Sackboy. So far, the Little Big Planet series hasn't graced us with any mobile editions or ports, so it’s wonderful news to see this adorable little guy finally make his way into our pockets!

As previously mentioned, Ultimate Sackboy is an endless runner at its core, featuring characters from the Little Big Planet series in spades. Sackboy isn’t the only sack puppet you’ll be interacting with, as this world features tons of his various sackfolk as well as familiar enemies from the series too. If you’re a fan of the franchise, you’ll find a lot to love about this one.

Gameplay-wise, you know what you’re getting into with a free-to-play runner. Think of something like Temple Run or Subway Surfers and you’re not too far off. There will be a few lanes for you to hop, skip, and jump between, all the while dodging various obstacles and enemies who will throw hazards your way to stop your progress.

There are various game modes here, however, which mix up the typical formula. There will be leaderboards to chase, a PvP mode to race against your rivals, and Daily Challenges too. All the while, you’ll be collecting different pieces of cosmetic gear to make your Sacbkboy your own, allowing you to really express yourself while you leave your rivals in the dust.

It’s wonderful to see Little Big Planet get some representation, both in terms of it finally coming to mobile and also since it’s been a while since we saw our sack friend too. If you’re a fan of the franchise or just looking for a great new endless runner to try out, pre-register for Ultimate Sackboy at the link below!
