Konami's classic top-down shooter TwinBee is coming to the 3DS eShop, remastered with some of that swanky third-dimensional magic.

The Japanese video game giant has opted to preserve the game's original aspect ratio, meaning the gameplay won't fill the whole 3DS screen. Instead, red theatre-style curtains will adorn each side of the action to occupy the extra space.

The vertical-scrolling shmup was originally released on the NES in 1986, so if you're into the classics, you can't get much more retro than this.

TwinBee will hit the Japan's 3DS eShop on August 10th, priced at 600 Yen. No confirmation yet on a US or UK launch date.
