Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles go mobile

Not one, but two new games to tie in with renewed Turtle fever

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles go mobile

It's the greatest comeback since Scooch stormed their way into the Eurovision Song Contest! Although frankly, we'd rather put four turtles on the stage in Helsinki to represent the UK.

Yes, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are back, with a new big-screen movie and TV series to delight The Kids (and to bankrupt The Parents through canny merchandising). And Dutch developer Overloaded is releasing two mobile games based on the Turtles to celebrate.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is based on the movie, and sees you playing Leonardo and Master Splinter, trying to 'restore unity and ninja discipline' to the rest of the troupe.

Actually, you can play all the turtles during the game, once you've kicked the lazy arses of the others to get up and fight. There's seven levels to battle through, which judging by the screenshots includes at least one driving interlude.

Meanwhile, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Fast Forward is based on the all-new TV cartoon, and takes a more casual slant on the brand, with two mini-games based on limbering up the Turtles for battle.

Ninja Combat Training sees you battling a wave of enemies in a side-on beat-'em-up, while Ninja Agility Training has you dodging traffic in New York City.

Both games are due out soon, to capitalise on the Turtle fever that will presumably be sweeping the nation alongside the film. Let's hope they're better than the recent and dreadful TMNT PSP game.
