Tiny Dice Dungeon is another pixely free-to-play RPG with a twist. This time you're rolling dice to mangle strangely adorable blocky-edged beasts.

A couple of dice rattle about in the bottom of the screen and you tap them to stop them.

You can roll as many dice as you like, but as soon as you roll a 1 your attack misses and everything goes to waste.

It's a game of luck-pushing and trying to hold on for another turn, and it's surprisingly compulsive.

And there's nothing better than seeing a towering beast spew out a 1 and fluffing its attack lines.

As well as hitting the monsters in the face you get to capture them if you roll the correct numbers. Captured monsters can join your team, giving you extra turns and more dice to try and kill your foes with.

You can fight against other people in online battles, and there's a town re-building sub game that adds new powers to your arsenal as you scrap through the various quests.

This being a free-to-play game there are some in-app purchases and what looks like an energy system, but it's not too obtrusive, and the game works reasonably well in little slices anyway.

Tiny Dice Dungeon is out on the App Store right now and it'll set you back nothing to give it a try.

If you're into dice, subterranean lairs, and weird octopus beasts, you might find something to like here.
