Eagle-eyed Pocket Gamer readers may have spotted The Sims Bowling on their operator portals a few weeks ago, but EA Mobile has just announced the game's wider availability (i.e. if your specific operator hadn't already got it, they probably have now).

As the name suggests, The Sims Bowling is a spin-off from popular people game The Sims, focused around ten-pin bowling. The novel aspect is that you start the game by creating and customising your character, whereas most bowling games simply offer a choice of a few avatars to play.

There's also a developmental aspect to the game too, since the better you bowl, the more popular your Sim becomes. (We've always found the opposite to be the case in real life, but maybe our mates are just sore losers.)

The game offers three modes – Classic, Spare-O-Thon and Strike-O-Thon – and controls that have been designed for one-handed play. Which when you think about it, is only fair for a bowling game. It's only toddlers who bowl two-handed in the real world.

Anyway, you can get your hands on The Sims Bowling now, and we'll have a review for you shortly.
