First Sims 2 Castaway PSP shots drift into view

EA has finally released some images of the forthcoming PSP iteration of The Sims 2 Castaway. If you visited us yesterday, you might have seen the trailer for the DS (and Wii) version, which follows some play time we've had with the game on Nintendo's handheld, but this is the first time anything has been shown for PSP.

However, the shots haven't exactly turned up accompanied by a great deal of info. Clearly, that's hardly a catastrophe given that the core of the game mirrors that of the one found on DS, and sees you overcome the forces of nature to help your shipwrecked Sims – who can range from chefs, mechanics, doctors, musicians, teachers or park rangers, to name a few – thrive on the uncharted island they've washed up on, before eventually making it back to civilisation.

That said, there will obviously be some differences between the two formats, not least the loss of stylus input on PSP and how this might affect, say, the inclusion of the mini-games DS owners are promised.

Then again, it's just as possible Sony's handheld will benefit in other areas. We'll be trying to find what these may be between now and the game's November 9th release.
