The Elder Scrolls: Blades cheats and tips - How to easily beat the Wispmother
Kill Wisps and the Wispmother with ease
When it comes to frustrating enemies in The Elder Scrolls: Blades, the Wispmother is one of the worst.
Sure, trolls have that health regen, Goblins are ugly, Thalmor can weave from attacks - there are frustrations everywhere, but few as frustrating as the Wispmother.
She'll freeze you in place and slow your attacks, all while whittling away at your health. You need to go in prepared, which is why we've made this guide.

Why is she hard?
The Wispmother is, for my money, one of the toughest enemies you're likely to come across in The Elder Scrolls: Blades. She's ghostly, ghastly, and doesn't like taking damage. If you're not prepared, then she can easily take you apart.
But that doesn't mean all hope is lost. The Wispmother can be defeated, like all other enemies in this game, with a smart set up. Your equipment, item usage, and tactics can make a huge difference when it comes to taking down these tougher foes.
The Wispmother feels like the hardest opponent since the trolls, and she has loads of resistances, and very few weaknesses. But that doesn't mean you won't be able to take her down.
Just like with our guide to taking down trolls, the Wispmother has a few handy ways to take her down quickly, and power through her precious health before she has a chance to strike back.
Here's a tip to start off though: don't bother with Frost Magicka. Frost resistance is great, but trying to use offensive Frost spells or enchantments will just get thrown back in your face.
So, a good tip to start off with? Use Fire offensive spells and enchantments, and Frost resistances.

Hit 'em hard
One of the reasons the Wispmother is so tough is that she actually resists every type of physical damage. Like, damn, that's frustrating when it's your primary way of doing damage.
That means just going in with your Stamina skills probably won't help. Unless you enchant your weapon with Fire, that is.
Flames will tear through a Wispmother. I recommend a fast attacking weapon, like a Dwarven Light Hammer, and enchanting it with Flames, so you can go all out on attacking while regaining Magicka.

Magicka power
In case you haven't grasped it yet, yeah, Flames will help in a fight against a Wispmother.
The frosty buggers are all about inflicting slow and freezing your character in place, making it important to burn them up before they interrupt your spells.
This makes using Magicka skills way more important, and therefore you should make sure to have a couple of Magicka potions handy in a pinch, and save them for those Wispmother fights.

Smart play
If you've gone in with Frost Resist, Fire Magicka and Flame enchanments, that is all good news, but resist potions could also help.
It's easy enough to get Frost Resist potions, and they're infinitely useful for Wispmothers. Just down one when you see an enemy appear to get ready for the fight.
Alternatively, you could always get some Magicka boosting enchantments on your gear so you can keep whipping out powerful spells to take them down, just watch your Magicka and Health supply.
