Subway Surfers Blast, the new matching puzzler set in the Subway Surfers world, opens pre-registration

The newest project in the Subway Surfers series, Subway Surfers Blast, has opened up pre-registrations ahead of the planned release date later this year. This new entry into the renowned franchise takes a different approach from the endless runner nature of its sibling title and instead seeks to transfer the world of Subway Surfers to a puzzle setting instead.

Subway Surfers Blast is an interesting little game given the vastly different nature from the game it is based upon. Where the original Subway Surfers was an endless runner where you jumped from lane to lane to collect points and items to make it as far as you could, Blast is a lot more akin to something like Candy Crush, using a match-the-tiles sort of style of gameplay.

The game is divided up into stages just like Candy Crush as well and will give you a numeric goal of a specific tile that you need to match X amount of. These will start pretty easy, but by the time you reach the later stages, they’ll begin challenging you to consider each and every move carefully to try and make the most of your limited moves per stage.

Of course, there’s gotta be some Subway Surfers fanservice too. This comes in the form of the ability to pick and choose characters from the series to play as, as well as familiar power-ups that have similar effects to the ways they worked in the original game too. This makes for a pretty cool little nod to the original Subway Surfers that is sure to delight fans of the series.

There are also the typical features found in these matching games like leaderboards to compete with your friends as well as a Guild feature so everyone can communicate and share their progress with one another.

Overall, Subway Surfers Blast is a departure from the original game, but it looks to be a pretty solid option for fans of the match puzzle genre. If you want to try it out yourself, you can pre-register for it at either of the links below.
