Indie game developer Kassem from OTTERWORKS has officially launched Strapion, the tic-tac-toe-based game on mobile with a twist. The strategic board game promises to put players' tactical prowess to the test as they try to best their opponents online.

In Strapion, players can look forward to diving into a tic-tac-toe game but with special limitations and an added layer. There are nine grids of nine cells on each board, and every grid that a player wins is considered one point. Both players will have to stay one step ahead of the competition, however, as the grid where the player plays will be based on the previous move of the opponent.

The catch is that you are not allowed to send your foe back to the previous grid, opening up a fresh new layer of gameplay to an otherwise vanilla game. There's a timer to bring on the heat with each match as well.

Those who are a little bit more competitive can put their skills to the test on the online leaderboards to see if they've got what it takes to make it to the top of the charts. There's also a handy chat function within the game to keep things social.

Ready to see if you can squeeze your brain cells and train them to master tic-tac-toe this way? If you're keen on joining in on all the fun, you can download Strapion on the iOS App Store and on the Google Play Store for Android devices. It's a free-to-play game with in-app purchases, which are only for fun skins and cosmetics, making sure that the core gameplay stays intact.

Are you on the hunt for more similar titles that will put your skills to the test on your mobile device? Why not take a gander at our list of the best puzzle games on Android?
