Star Wars: The Force Unleashed on the iPhone

Apple's new games platform turns to the Dark side

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed on the iPhone

We've had our lightstylus poised for what seems like ages, waiting for the DS (and PSP) version of the latest Jedi game, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed to hit the shelves.

And now Gizmodo is reporting a favourable hands-on experience with the iPhone version, too. (We've since also got to preview The Force Unleashed on iPhone.)

Naturally this mobile version will feature something of a reduced game in many ways, though an enhanced one in others (taking the unique control system available on the iPhone into account).

Rather than roaming around 3D environments, iPhone Force Unleashed requires you to stand fairly stationary and use your lightsaber-equipped finger to fight enemies and hit them with bursts of the Force.

Although it sounds quite pale in comparison to the handheld console
game's expectations, it's received a very encouraging write up and certainly looks quite distinctive on the iPhone's gorgeous screen.

So get your iLightsabers ready, and reach out with your feelings towards the 'Track It!' button below.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
