Star Command is the not-quite-all-it's-cracked-up-to-be space exploration simulation from War Balloon Games. Good news, though: it's a little cheaper than usual on the App Store and Google Play Store.
The game is all about whooshing around space, taking care of your crew, mending the bits of your ship that fall off, and repelling invading alien forces.
At review, we said that "while blasting aliens out of the sky can be fun, Star Command lacks the depth of a true space sim." We promptly gave the game a Bronze Award.
You can grab the game right now from the App Store for £1.49 / $1.99 [buy] or from Google Play for £1.20 / $1.99 [buy].
It's a decent buy at that price, sure. If you're looking to take your first foray into deep space, though, the recently released FTL: Faster Than Light might be a better bet.
