[Update] Sulon Q is aiming to be the world's first "wear and play" all in one VR headset, powered by AMD
It does look quite interesting but still, we don't have much details about the headset yet. We'll update you when we know more about the price of battery life of the Sulon Q.
Up until now you either required a phone or a PC to power your VR headset. Well, with the just announced Sulon Q it seems like a third option is coming. With this headset, everything you need is already included.
You've got a CPU, GPU and everything you'd need to run VR games and apps powered by AMD's chipsets. Looking at the specification of this headset, it looks like it will be comparable to a notebook with full Windows 10 support.
With that sort of power strapped on to your face, I'm a bit curious to see how hot it will get or how heavy it will be. And since they're saying that "no tangled wires will hold you back", I'm also concerned about this headset's battery life.
The headset is interestingly also using Microsoft's Holographic APIs to deliver some AR experiences and it will even be able to mix up VR and AR.
I'm sure we'll hear more about games and apps for this headset at GDC this week.
