A gorgeous new retro-inspired game called Sky Chasers is now available on the App Store, for free.

You play as Max: a kid in a cardboard box that's powered by a pair of booster rockets. By tapping on the left and right sides of the screen you can propel your makeshift rocket through the world.

Stages are filled with obstacles and monsters, like spiders, thorny vines, and killer bees. And you'll also have to collect objects (like keys and canisters of fuel) that weigh down your box as you lug them about.

You'll have to keep an eye on your fuel gauge, though. If it zeroes out, you're whisked back to the last checkpoints. Checkpoints are unlocked using coins or by watching adverts.

Sky Chasers is a lovely and imaginative little game, with a reasonably fair free to play system. Definitely one to check out - and you can do that right here.
