If you're anything like me, you spent your primary school education mucking about in sandpits and nailing the alfabet.

Five-year-old Toronto native Cassie Creighton, meanwhile, decided to skip a few educational stages to co-create the fantastical iPad game Sissy’s Magical Ponycorn Adventure.

In (ironically) old skool point-and-click style, players take control of protagonist Sissy as she attempts to collect the titular half-unicorn, half-pony creatures and put them into jars.

Whilst that all sounds suitably insane, what really makes the game stand out is its charming aesthetic. The artwork in Sissy’s Magical Ponycorn Adventure looks like it’s been lifted straight from a fridge door, which, funnily enough, is probably the case, since Cassie herself drew all the characters in crayon.

She also lent her voice to the lead character, wrote all the titles, and designed some of the puzzles. This just left her dad, Ryan, to fill in the coding gaps. Lazy rascal.

You can regress into your five-year-old self from today by downloading Sissy’s Magical Ponycorn Adventure for £1.79 / $2.99 / €2.39 from the App Store.

See how it plays in the video below.
