Gamers of a certain age will always have a soft spot for point-and-click adventures.

Those raised on the likes of Monkey Island and Beneath a Steel Sky are resigned to forever sighing wistfully whenever anyone mentions Sierra or LucasArts.

Among the list of great adventure games from that era sits Adventure Soft's Simon the Sorcerer.

In this 20-year-old game, we follow the story of a hapless teen dragged into a world of magic, sorcerers, and evil goblins.

And to celebrate the game's 20th anniversary, you can finally pick it up for Android.

Simon the Sorcerer has already been out on iOS for more than three years. This new version for Google handsets, however, has been given the HD treatment and a more polished control system.

We gave the iOS version a Bronze Award at review, saying that "the classic adventure underneath hasn't aged too badly, but the supposed control innovations designed to make the game iPhone friendly aren't anything to write home about."

Hopefully, then, the more refined controls of this Android version should make it the definitive portable Simon the Sorcerer.

If you fancy a wander down memory lane, you could do a lot worse than grab Simon the Sorcerer for Android for £2.68.
