It’s quiet. Too quiet

Gameloft’s sneaky action title Silent Ops has arrived on the New Zealand App Store, meaning it should be poking its head out in the UK and US from midnight.

Silent Ops is a third-person cover-based shooter that puts you into the boots of not just one, but three differently tooled-up characters in a quest to stop some kind of generic - sorry, ‘sinister’ - plot about cloning.

None of the characters has a sillier name than 9mm’s John ‘Loose’ Kannon, however, which is mildly disappointing.

There are seven levels spanning the world to fight your way through, including the skyscrapers of Hong Kong and a rather Backstab-esque seaside town (I say that because there’s a Kannon - sorry, cannon - in one of the screenshots).

There’s support for both local and online multiplayer with up to eleven other players across two game modes (Deathmatch and Assault), while, in true Gameloft style, the graphics look rather good.

Silent Ops is a Universal download and will be available for £4.99 / $6.99 from midnight this evening.
