Shironeko Golf is launching next month for Japanese audiences
After being announced earlier this year, Colopl has announced that Shironeko Golf finally has a release date for its Japan version - and it’s only about a month from now! In October, Japanese audiences will be able to take part in some highly stylised anime golfing action based on the old free-to-play RPG released in 2014.
Calling Shironeko Golf based on that F2P RPG might be a bit of an exaggeration, as while it does take the Shironeko subtitle and a lot of the game’s characters, it is an entirely different genre. While the other was a high-fantasy epic role-playing experience, Shironeko Golf is, of course, a golfing game.
That’s not to say that the RPG elements are entirely removed, of course. Shironeko Golf will have a gear system that will enhance your stats such as accuracy and power, as well as a simple level-up system reminiscent of other JRPGs out there too. On top of that, a lot of the main cast of the Shrioneko games will also be playable characters within this game too!
While the stats and whatnot are present, this is a golf simulator at heart. You’ll tackle various courses using a fairly typical stop-the-arrow system for your hits. You’ll line up an indicator within the perfect area of a half-sphere, and if you stop it right in the center, you’ll get a stronger and more efficient hit, landing you some serious distance. Watch that trailer up above for a deeper look at it all!
With simple yet effective golfing gameplay, a bunch of cool characters from the Shironeko characters, and a charming anime art style, there’s a lot to dig about Shironeko Golf. Whether you're a fan of the series or just someone looking for a good mobile golf game, this might be the one for you.
