Saint Seiya EX will soon bring card-battling Zodiac action to iOS

While we may think of mainstays such as Dragon Ball or One Piece, there are a surprising number of top anime series unknown in the northern hemisphere but still iconic elsewhere. Take Saint Seiya, the uber-popular anime that's a longtime favourite in South America, and which is set to receive a new 3D card battler for iOS called Saint Seiya EX!

Saint Seiya is, for those unaware, the story of the titular orphan Seiya who joins a collective of warriors known as Saints that battle to defend the goddess Athena. That means plenty of punching, transformation sequences on par with Sailor Moon and a whole lot of throwing attacks while screaming their names.

While it's billed as a card battler, Saint Seiya EX more closely resembles a 3D auto battler. You'll collect different cards featuring characters from the hit series that you pit against one another in open battle. There's a huge voice cast drawn from the series, alongside songs from the soundtrack and other neat touches for longtime Seiya fanatics.

Signs of the Zodiac

Newcomers may be a little mystified by the dense lore of Saint Seiya, but for fans, nothing could be more thrilling than seeing your favourite characters duke it out with full 3D animation and abilities that are just as dazzling on mobile as they are on the big screen.
