A puzzle game that’s on the the DS and not on iPhone - well, that’s something of a novelty these days.

Still, Tradewest’s Safecracker puzzler isn’t out until March 2010 so maybe there’s still time for an App Store appearance.

In the meantime, the details are that the game’s setting has you hired by the family of a deceased eccentric billionaire to search for his will. It’s been hidden in one of the 35 safes scattered in his large mansion.

Each of the safes are unique, with a different touchscreen puzzle for you to solve.

Interestingly, the game is said to be non-linear in terms of the exploration and safecracking, which would seem to raise certain implications concerning whether you can finish the game by completing the first safe.

We assume the game designers have thought about that simple plan however.

Safecracker is due out in the UK on 12th March 2010.
