Chillingo may well have made public its plans to launch Cut the Rope on Android in the coming months, but one rival studio clearly believes the firm isn't working fast enough.

Developed by Feelingtouch, Rope Cut is an unashamed Cut the Rope clone, offering Android users what appears to be a startlingly similar experience to the original iPhone release.

Cutting ties?

Indeed, it's the general quality of the gameplay on offer, when compared to the efforts of most clone releases, that is generating attention, given some potential buyers might not spot the difference between the two.

The most obvious one is swapping out hungry little green monster Om Nom for a hungry little green snake.

Most importantly, however, it's free. Should Rope Cut remain unchallenged by Chillingo, Cut the Rope may find launching anything but an ad-supported free game difficult.

"Cut the ropes by simply swiping your finger across them to deliver the candy to that little python," reads the game's instructions, the developer even going as far as to label the game 'Cut the Rope - Android version' on its Facebook page.

Feelingtouch, which was previously known as Superdroid.net, has five other titles available on the platform, with the firm having revealed back in October that total downloads of its titles had surpassed 1 million.
