Chris Sawyer: iPad version of Rollercoaster Tycoon has 'crossed my mind'

Last year Atari revealed that it planned to bring Rollercoaster Tycoon to iOS and Android devices. Then the company filed for bankruptcy, leaving the game in limbo. And limbo is where it remains.

But a recent interview with the game's creator contains glimmer of a twinkle of a shadow of an echo of a hint that Rollercoaster Tycoon might be making its way back towards the land of the living.

Speaking to Red Bull, developer Chris Sawyer revealed that he considers Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 to be his best game. That means he thinks it's even better than Transport Tycoon, which is coming to iOS and Android soon.

When asked about an iPad port of Rollercoaster Tycoon, Sawyer said, “It's definitely crossed my mind - who knows what the future might hold."

Unfortunately, Sawyer doesn't have immediate access to the Rollercoaster Tycoon IP, which is up in the air still while Atari auctions off its assets.

But if Transport Tycoon sells well there's every chance that Sawyer will be given the opportunity to revive Rollercoaster Tycoon as well.
