UK developer Origin8 has made several tweaks to its Pocket Gamer Bronze Award-winning smash-'em-up Robot Rampage, including the introduction of new modes and DLC.

For 59p / 99c - or as part of a free update if you already own the game - the title now offers Retina display support for compatible iPhones and iPod touchs, and integration with both OpenFeint and Game Center for leaderboards and achievements.

The game's Rampage mode has been improved with new laser, speed, and atomic boost pick-ups, and new Countdown and Air Attack modes have been added.

The first of the new modes sees you destroying blocks with the pressure of a time limit, while the latter tasks you with fending off human flying machines for as long as possible.

Destruction costs

The developer has also implemented various 59p / 99c in-app purchases, which allow you to unlock new robots - e.g. RoboZilla and RoboKong - and new environments.

Each of the new characters has a unique ability, such as a five per cent boost to fire breath for RoboZilla.

You can grab Robot Rampage from the App Store right now for 59p / 99c, or snatch the HD iPad version from tomorrow for £1.49 / $1.99.
