Political intrigue, snide pettiness, and plenty of figurative and literal backstabbing - there's just something irresistible about the intricacies of royal courts, and in Road to Empress, it seems it's got all that and more. The upcoming FMV drama is coming to iOS, Android and Steam soon, and if you think you've got what it takes to make it in the palace in one piece, you might want to give this a go.
In Road to Empress, you'll step into the shoes of Wu Zetian as the only female emperor in Chinese history. Of course, everyone has to start somewhere, which is what the aptly titled full-motion video drama will have you go through. The Tang Dynasty is filled with treachery and deceit, so it's up to you to use your wits - and a little bit of treachery of your own - to survive.
It's a Choose Your Own Adventure-esque experience, which means the choices you make will have lasting consequences throughout your journey. There are important prompts and pivotal moments that will make or break your upcoming reign - will you climb up the ranks to fulfil your destiny as the ruler of China, or will you remain a lowly court figure forever?
