Revolt is a turn-based, strategic roguelike set in a dystopian future that's available now for iOS and Android

Revolt is a roguelike strategy game from indie developer Badbones Productions, who you may know from their previous titles Cast and The Pads Game. Their latest endeavour initially released for iOS and Android earlier this year but it has now become free-to-play, meaning you'll be able to try the game out with the option of purchasing the premium version, which will remove all ads from the game for $1.99.

Revolt itself takes place in a dystopian 2022 where the world is now ruled by a totalitarian dictatorship. Almost the whole of humanity lives in a state of unconsciousness whilst also being mentally commanded by the government.

You'll take on the role of Mr Smith, an individual who, for some reason, the government's mind control tactics had no effect on. Because of this, they threw him in jail where you'll then have to help him escape so he can fight for humanity's freedom.

As you can see from the trailer above, it plays out in a similar fashion to the likes of Imbroglio or the recently released Seven Scrolls. Revolt also looks to implement a card-based loot system where you'll be able to pick up various weapons on the floor that will then be added to a bar at the bottom of the screen to use when you deem necessary.

If you're the type of player who enjoys endless modes, you'll be pleased to know there's one you can unlock here. To do so you have to make your way through 10 different levels and then you'll be able to see how far you get with a single life.

Revolt is available now over on the App Store and Google Play. It's a free-to-play game with a single in-app purchase that unlocks the premium version of the game for $1.99.
