One of the big mobile successes of the Kickstarter boom was Camouflaj's Republique.

Good news: it's going live on the App Store this Thursday, over a year and a half since its maker scooped up more than $550,000 in crowdfunded donations.

Camouflaj has broken the game up into five chapter-sized chunks, each of which will be released a couple of months after the last. Each chapter is expected to last players about three hours.

Chapter one of Republique will set you back £2.99 / $4.99, with the following chapters similarly priced.

Kickstarter backers who coughed up for the iOS version of the game will get the whole bundle for nothing, though. Quite how Camouflaj is going to manage that remains unclear.

Republique itself is a stealth-action title with a story of surveillance and espionage in an impressive-looking 3D world, and features innovative one-touch gameplay. Again, quite how well that one-touch control system works remains to be seen.

There's a stellar voice cast here that includes Jennifer Hale, Dwight Schultz, and David Hayter.

Republique should surface on the App Store on December 19th. To keep you going until then, why not check out the Republique screens in the gallery at the top of this page.
