Today, Rec Room has announced the release of its latest Rec Room Original, a 4v1 multiplayer horror game called Make it to Midnight. It sees you either running about Rec County Fairground, powering up generators in a bid to escape or becoming Bonky the Clown to try and capture the would-be survivors. Dead by Daylight, essentially.

As you might expect, Make it to Midnight was created using the same suite of tools available to players, with a few new additions, including improved melee mechanics for anyone playing on a touchscreen device. On top of that, you can now tweak locomotion parameters, which means altering speed, stamina, and jump distance.

Make it to Midnight also introduces a progression system. By engaging with it and dedicating time to the mode you will receive numerous rewards. It's not unique to this new mode, though. Rec Room has made it so you can integrate this system into your creations.

Finally, the last new addition the new Rec Room Original brings is the ability to tinker with the HUD. That means you can show whatever information you deem most important, whether that's statistics, icons or the player's inventory.

Discussing Make it to Midnight, Morgan Tucker, Head of User Generated Content at Rec Room, said: “At Rec Room, developing original content like Make it to Midnight allows us to focus on delivering exciting new capabilities for our creators.”

“Our goal is for these tools to abstract away complexity and let our community do what they do best - imagine and create. This expansion reflects our commitment to empowering creators with tools that let them push the boundaries of immersive, cross-platform game development.”

Rec Room is available on the App Store and Google Play as a free-to-play game with in-app purchases. You can download it for your preferred platform using the links below.
