Rainbow Six Mobile ability tier list (March 2026)
Many of the Operators return to Rainbow Six Mobile, bringing their specific talents and abilities with them, but some are more efficient than others.
- Rainbow Six Mobile condenses a lot from the original onto the mobile platform
- Many of the well-known Operators are back with their trademark looks and skills
- Each ability has strengths and weaknesses, but some are far more adaptable
Rainbow Six is a game that has always irked me a bit because everyone knows that the MINIMUM number of colours in a rainbow is seven, but that's not the only irk. With such a colourful title, you'd think that the characters involved would at least be wearing some sort of vibrant clothing, but nope. They're all wearing dark greys and blacks because it's "tactical" and "strategic". Honestly, you can't blame the team of Rainbow Six, who have to frequently carry out tricky military operations and take advantage of the low-light environments and the urban backdrop. Now, they have to work in even tighter situations in Rainbow Six Mobile.
The mobile port attempts to capture some of the most memorable and definitive aspects of the original version, while being lighter, faster, and a bit less complex. Among all the returning elements, the Operators are the fan-favourites with many recognisable names such as Sledge and Rook returning to the field once more. Aside from their appearance and gear, Operators are distinguished by the Unique Abilities that they bring to the field. While they tend to be tailored towards Offensive and Defensive roles, some are definitely more adaptable, no matter which side you're on or how you want to play.
The Exceptions: The Attack and Defense Recruits
Whenever you join a match, you'll have a chance to choose an unlocked Operator. However, to prevent doubling up and to keep things balanced, you'll be placed in the role of a Recruit. These nameless and faceless soldiers don't have any definitive abilities (aside from being able to throw a grenade) or elements that make them particularly unique, but they can be customised to your playstyle. The named Operator abilities can be most effective when teammates provide strong support. It all comes down to your skill level, and the Recruits always have room for improvement.

S-Tier Abilities
| S-Tier | |||||
| Ability Name | User | Effect | |||
| Entry Denial Device | Kapkan | Places a bomb to the left or right of an entry point that will detonate when an enemy gets within range. Simple and effective for both those playing safely and those playing aggressively. | |||
| Remote Gas Bomb | Smoke | Throws a gas bomb that explodes in a large cloud of gas that obscures vision and poisons those within it. An efficient ability that can provide instant cover, force a retreat, and cause damage with minimal accuracy. | |||
| Candela Flash Charge | Ying | Deploy a remote bomb that can be controlled and placed like a drone and then detonated in a flash of bright light. Great for ambushing and delaying an approach, allowing you to get in the best position. | |||
| Tactical Crossbow | Capitão | Allows you to shoot either Smoke or Fire arrows. Smoke arrows generate clouds of smoke, providing cover by lowering visibility. Fire arrows ignite the ground to slow down enemies and damage them over time. | |||
| Breaching Round | Ash | Uses a mounted explosive launcher to shoot a bomb that can attach to surfaces, be remotely detonated, breach cover, damage enemies, and wreck gadgets. This ability is highly adaptable, offering lots of options, and can be difficult to detect. | |||
| Exothermic Charge | Thermite | Deploys an attachable charge that can destroy soft and hard cover and damage anything caught within the blast when detonated. With the right timing and placement, this explosive can be a devastating hit to the attacking or defending team. | |||

A-Tier Abilities
| A-Tier | |||||
| Ability Name | User | Effect | |||
| Shock Wire | Bandit | Plants a portable car battery that can shock enemies, hurt enemies, and damage gadgets. It's a passive ability that definitely helps curb the enemy's approach and limits safe areas. | |||
| Logic Bomb, Camera Hack | Dokkabei | Lets you hack into enemy devices to expose their positions and use their cameras against them. While not a damaging ability, it gives you a strong edge to lay traps or actively hunt enemies. | |||
| Breaching Hammer | Sledge | Swings a large sledgehammer that can be used to bust through soft surfaces. It may have limited use, but it has many uses and a very quick activation time, letting you carve multiple routes through any map. | |||
| Thermal Flip Scope | Glaz | Equip a long-range scope that allows you to see enemies through smoke and increases your weapon damage. While somewhat niche, it still gives you a powerful long-range rifle to drop enemies before they realize what's happened. | |||
| Welcome Mat | Frost | Lay down a tactical bear trap anywhere on the ground to immobilize and stagger any enemies that step into it. While limited in use, it still allows for a stealthy and unexpected trap that can take down even the most skilled opponents. | |||
| Skeleton Key | Buck | Activates a secondary shotgun barrel that lets you breach through soft surfaces instantly. This ability allows you to remain incredibly mobile, allowing you to surprise enemies, remove defenses, and open up quick retreats. | |||
3
B-Tier Abilities
| B-Tier | |||||
| Ability Name | User | Effect | |||
| Silent Step, Interrogation | Caveira | Footsteps are muffled, making for much harder detection, facilitating ambushes. When ambushed, the enemy can be interrogated for ally positions and then eliminated. This ability promotes solo play and active hunting, but can leave you vulnerable. | |||
| Armor Panel | Castle | Swaps out a soft barricade for a portable, enforced barricade that can be deployed over entry points. Almost purely defensive in nature, it can still be used to redirect offensive routes and provide instant protection. | |||
| EE-One-D | Lion | Summons an aerial support drone that can briefly ping all enemy positions. This is specifically made for a team that can move quickly while enemy positions are revealed, but still gives you a positioning edge. | |||
| X-Kairos Launcher | Hibana | Allows you to shoot explosive pellets that adhere to surfaces and can be detonated to breach both soft and hard targets. While these are effective mounted explosives, their slow detonation and distinctive appearance can make them easy to identify. | |||
| Deathmark Tracker | Deimos | Sends out a flying drone that will seek out and track one enemy. The enemy will remain exposed until either you or they are eliminated. This is another ability tailored for solo play, but it can be quite limiting. | |||
| Shock Drone | Twitch | Lets you deploy and control two additional drones to destroy gadgets. While it's quite useful against gadget-heavy teams, it's limited in effectiveness and leaves you vulnerable for the entire time you're controlling the drone. | |||
| Magpie Defense System | Jäger | Sets up a device on the side of entry points that can destroy certain projectiles, such as grenades, when thrown. This can be very useful in the early game, but is also very easily exposed. | |||
4
C-Tier Abilities
| C-Tier | |||||
| Ability Name | User | Effect | |||
| Evil Eye | Maestro | A mounted camera turret that can fire lasers at any enemies that come within range. While cool in theory, its fire rate is slow, and once the eye is exposed, it can be quickly destroyed. | |||
| Blackeye Camera | Valkyrie | Adds additional cameras wherever you plant, giving you more eyes in the sky. While useful for surveillance, it requires you to hold your position in order to make the most of its effectiveness. | |||
| Armor Pack | Rook | Lays down an armor pack that can be used by teammates to give them extra protection. Another ability that sounds good in theory, but is most effective when used immediately, not to mention that the armor packs can be stolen. | |||
| Emp Grenade | Thatcher | Deploys a remote grenade that detonates to release a burst of electricity to damage and disable gadgets. The lack of anti-enemy effects holds this back and requires you to be aware of multiple gadgets. | |||
| Jammer | Mute | Lets you set up a device that can jam the signals of drones and other remote-controlled gadgets. Another niche ability; its effectiveness depends on its placement and your contribution. | |||
| Black Mirror | Mira | Mounts a two-way mirror on a surface that allows for observation and can blow out a hole when the air canister is shot. An obvious ability, it's very limited in application. | |||
