If you've just jumped into RAID: Shadow Legends and saw all of the options available for battle, you might be a bit overwhelmed. There are five to choose from, and you just jumped in for a quick game.

Well campaign is the place to start, but what then? Do you need to delve into the dungeons, or fight in the arena?

The answer is, well, only if you want to, but it can help a lot. Gather round and read through, as we've got tips for you to understand the various modes of battle in RAID: Shadow Legends.

Aren't they all the same?

RAID Shadow Legends

No they're not. If you click through to the battle menu in the bottom right of the main menu, you'll find five different modes confronting you, and it can be daunting to jump right in.

Campaign is the only one unlocked from the beginning, but I'm sure the other four modes already have piqued your interest - or have otherwise scared you off from too many options.

But don't fret my friends, we're here to run you through them after all, tell you what to expect, and why you shouldn't be so afraid.

They are all, of course, battles - thus the battle menu. But the challenges you can expect within differ heavily.

While the campaign is a pretty straightforward blend of mob encounters and bosses, the dungeons can include a much more predictable, and steep, challenge.

Elsewhere, arena pits you against teams created by real people, and the clans section will actually have you helping out in fights with other clan members. Make sure to actually join a clan for this to go well.

The Faction Wars, the final mode, is one of the most intriguing, and will require you to amass an army built using specific factions.

Campaign and dungeons

The campaign is the game mode you expect. Multiple stages against mobs and bosses, punctuated by brief story scenes to tell you about the world and lore in RAID: Shadow Legends.

It's pretty typical, unlike the dungeons. Each dungeon has a specific theme, and specific elemental affinities will do better in these environments.

They include predictable bosses and enemies, but they're tough. On top of that, certain materials are exclusively available through dungeons. You can check the rewards before entering, so you know if you need them.

2
Arena and clans

The arena sees you thrown down against a team comprised by another online player. They'll be playing automatically in their stead, but with a solid team they can be very tough.

It costs coins to perform arena matches, but rank up in the arena and you will be able to earn rewards at the end of each season.

Clans meanwhile will work together to tackle overwhelming odds. You'll be logging in daily - hopefully with the aid of other clan members - to overcome massive health bars. It's only a matter of time.

Faction wars

Finally, Faction Wars are interesting. For this series of challenges, the teams you use will have to be comprised of a specific faction.

In every other game mode you're free to pick and choose which factions you wish to use, but here you'll absolutely need to amass champions from certain factions, also meaning that sacrificing champions to level up others is a bad idea if you want to excel in this mode.

The challenge here will be in actually building a competent team from each faction, and that's what you should focus on.
