At this point, it may be well worth my deciding what to call a Fall Guys-like or Stumble Guys-like as a genre. That's because it's become increasingly trendy for devs to offer their own take. We saw it with Ninja Party, and now it's penguins in the upcoming Pudgy Party, which is now open for pre-registration!

If you haven't already guessed, Pudgy Party is a lot like Stumble Guys and its ilk. A horde of penguins compete to avoid obstacles, complete minigames, and make it through the level the fastest, all while trying to stay ahead of the pack and avoid elimination.

Naturally, these adorable flightless avians also get all manner of costumes for you to unlock and customise them with. Apparently, these are also an extremely popular toy line. Although, to be frank, like Labubu, it's something that's obviously passed me over. But I'm sure some of you are excited because of that.

Pudgy Penguins

Pudgy Penguins is arriving from the same developer as FIFA Rivals. And knowing it's based on an existing brand, it makes more sense. At the same time, it doesn't look to offer too much by way of a new twist on the genre. In essence, this is just Stumble Guys with a new coat of paint.

But by that same measure, it doesn't look bad either. So if you're a fan of flightless arctic birds and you've been looking for something to refresh your interest in the battle royale genre, it may be well worth pre-registering for Pudgy Party on iOS and Android ahead of an expected launch later on in August.
