Pokemon GO reveals the first half of its Halloween 2023 celebrations
October is one of the best months to play Pokémon Go thanks to the numerous Halloween-themed events that Niantic hosts. Usually, the mega celebration is split into two parts, and we’ve finally received news on what part one of the AR game’s Halloween party entails.
Pokémon Go’s Halloween 2023 Part I will take place between October 19th and 26th, bringing back spooky activities, a remix of the Lavender Town music, festive décor and a tonne of ghost-type Pokémon. The ones to look out for are two debutants – Greavard and its evolution, Houndstone the Ghost Dog Pokémon.
The best way to obtain the new Pokémon is through Timed Research. It focuses on catching Greavard and will be available until the end of the month. A second will offer encounters with Spiritomb and other themed Pokémon. Plus, there’s Field Research with Misdreavus and Phantump up for grabs.
If that wasn’t enough, trainers can also purchase the Halloween special Timed Research for $5.00 or their local equivalent. It comes with various tasks that reward players with encounters with Phantump and Alolan Meowth alongside a Halloween-themed avatar pose.
Other similar goodies can be found in the shop. In there, players will find a Yamask Mask, Cofagrigus Costume, Cofagrigus Head, Phantump Head, and Greavard Wig. PokéStops will offer stickers and those subscribed to Amazon Prime Gaming will also be able to get their hands on a Timed Research with valuable rewards.
Trainers can also take advantage of numerous event bonuses that will be available during the fest. Catching Pokémon with Nice Throws, Great Throws, and Excellent Throws grants extra Candy and Candy XL. Hatching eggs will also result in 2x Candy and even more Candy XL.
It’s time to go trick-or-treating with your favourite Pokémon. The second half should kick off in the last week of October. Download Pokémon Go now for free.
