| Pokemon GO

As the year comes to an end, we have only one more Community Day event left in Pokémon GO. The pandemic may have made it seem like the year has zoomed by, but Niantic is promising to end with a bang. Usually, the Community Day event that takes place each month involves a single Pokémon and its evolutions, while granting bonuses and special moves for them.

However, December 2021’s Community Day event is going to be a little different. It will serve as a celebration of all the Community Days over the past two years. The event takes place on December 18th and 19th. This gives players a chance to obtain pretty much any Pokémon they missed in the last two years

Community Day Pokémon from 2021 will appear more frequently in the wild while 2020’s Community Day Pokémon will hatch from eggs and appear in raids, allowing you to obtain both simultaneously. Of course, no Pokémon GO event is ever complete without bonuses so we'll go over those next.

All incense and lure modules activated during the event will last for three hours, eggs placed in the incubator during the event will hatch in half the required distance, catching Pokémon will give twice the normal Catch XP as well as and Catch Stardust. Above this, Niantic is providing some special bonuses as well. There will be a reduction of 25% Stardust for trades and one extra special trade will be available on each day of the event. Finally, the Pokémon Storage Expansion Cap will be increased to 5,500 and Item Bag Expansion Cap will be increased to 4,500. These two are some massive upgrades and you definitely should make maximum use of them to catch all those exclusive Community Day Pokémon!

December Community Day 2021 is set to feature loads of Pokémon from the past two years in the wild, in raids, and through eggs. There will also be a special research story, field research tasks, and event bundles to purchase. A wonderful time to get back into the game.
