Someone's trying to bring POGs back as a mobile AR game

Do you miss the days of standing in the schoolyard, trying to flip over your friends' pogs, building your collection and keeping it hidden in your desk so the teacher wouldn't confiscate it? Well never fear, POGs: The Mobile Game is coming to help you relive all your 90s memories on both Android and iOS.

Currently in the funding stage on Indiegogo, POGs: The Mobile Game seeks to bring the POG experience to AR, letting players build their collection in order to trade with and play against others from around the globe.

The game features artwork from hundreds of original POGs, along with some new designs. In addition, backers have a chance to upload their own collection into the game once it launches, so dig out that shoebox from the attic.

Collecting, winning, and trading seems to be the main component of the game, though it's not completely clear whether the AR aspect will let you battle in the real world, or just view your POGs.

If you're interested enough to head back to the 90s, check out the game's Indiegogo page for more details and backer levels.
