PopCap’s Plants vs Zombies to hit Android 'within the next 2 months'

It seems you can’t stop the inexorable march of PopCap's sales behemoth Plants vs Zombies. Having already been confirmed for Windows Phone 7, the game will shuffle onto Android handsets as summer blooms.

According to a Tweet from the casual publisher, it's had “many requests for PvZ Android”. Another tweet revealed, “it will be releasing soon folks! In the first half of 2011 – that’s within the next 2 months :)”

Those who haven’t yet experienced its winning blend of horticulture, humour, and undead genocide would do well to read Tracy Erickson’s review of the iPhone version.

“Plants vs Zombies is a near-perfect tactics game with challenges that will eat at your brain and humour cementing it a spot in your heart,” he said, deeming it worthy of a rare Pocket Gamer Gold Award.
