Pirates of the Caribbean gets mobile poker game

Disney has announced its newest Pirates of the Caribbean mobile game, which eschews platform-based cutlass action in favour of, er, poker.

Pirates of the Caribbean Poker will offer five different varieties (Texas Hold 'em, Omaha, Omaha Hi/Lo, Blind Man's Buff, and Caribbean Stud) along with an extra dice game thrown in for free.

The game stars numerous characters from the films, and everything's suitably piratical. So besides gambling for cash, participants bet their ships, treasure maps and even their own souls.

Better still, there be three ways to cheat, including hiding cards up your sleeve, marking cards, and using enchanted dice.

The game's Story mode sees you playing through 14 different levels, while there's also two kinds of multiplayer: a hotseat pass-the-handset mode, and a Bluetooth option.

Meanwhile, it seems the game will also tie in with Disney's online high-scores technology, so you can see how your bluffing compares with other players'.

The game's due out soon, so click 'Track It!' above for a digital yo ho (yes, an email) when we review it.
