If you've been playing a bit of Pet Rescue Puzzle Saga, you might've noticed obstacles have a tendency to get in the way.

Obstacles can block objectives and make it difficult to progress in stages. Breaking them down is important, but that's easier said than done, as we'll outline.

There are multiple kinds of obstacles to get through, and with these tips you'll sail through them all. Just read on for everything you need to know about obstacles in Pet Rescue Puzzle Saga.

Breaking them down

Pet Rescue Puzzle Saga

What you need to know is how to get past obstacles, right? Well we've got what you need. Mostly.

There are a few special kinds of obstacles, but for the majority, one rule dominates. Break the blocks next to the obstacle, and the obstacle will start to break down.

It's a simple thing at first, but certain stage layouts can make it incredibly awkward to get at certain obstacles, and if your objective is to go for them, or it's covering an objective, it can be difficult.

Ice can cover objectives and blocks, while grass will take a block of it's own. The different obstacles have subtle, but importantly different properties.

Fog is a unique one, because it's not an obstacle, as in, it doesn't get in the way of blocks falling through. What it does do though is prevent you from tapping on the blocks underneath it.

Luckily, it dissipates by breaking blocks near it, like everything else. Otherwise, you can tease objectives out by clearing blocks underneath the fog.

You'll quickly adjust to any new obstacles as they're added, and while destroying blocks next to them is a safe bet, bombs and rockets are way better, especially for single hit obstacles.

Just remember bombs and arrows will appear in the same block that you tap! Use this to position them for maximum impact.

1
Grass, flowers

The grass and flowers will be some of the first obstacles you find, and they'll teach you the simple two touch rule.

Basically, the flowers require a hit to turn into grass, which will then be removed after a single hit. This happens with certain other obstacles too.

Grass will stay in place on the grid and won't let blocks or animals pass. Therefore, it must be eliminated.

2
Icy business

Ice is simple. It covers other blocks, and also falls through the grid. Getting rid of it? Of course, you break blocks next to it.

You'll notice denser, white ice which will require two hits to destroy, but it's a pretty typical set up here.

While it's similar to the grass, the way it can fall through the stage and have new ice spawned into the stage sets it apart.

3
Block borders

Eventually you'll find block borders, literally big borders which can only be broken down by breaking bricks which are the same colour and pattern.

This can split you off from the rest of the stage and blocks animals from escaping, so you should make breaking down the blocks you need a priority.

This is easier said than done, though. Feel through to use the reorganise ability to make things easier for yourself.
