Niantic has dropped the official release date for Peridot, the studio's "real-world adventure pet game" on mobile. Landing on iOS and Android devices on May 9th, the game is now open for pre-registration to give players first dibs as soon as it's out. Eager fans who sign up will score a launch-exclusive party hat cosmetic when they play the game within the first two weeks of the global release.

In Peridot, players can look forward to collecting and nurturing a variety of magical creatures that take mobile interaction to a whole new level. These adorable pets can not only explore the environment around them, but they can also develop their own unique personalities (and even get bored!) on top of their basic needs.

The developers have also made sure that each Peridot is "100% genetically unique". There's a wide diversity of genes that each Peridot can be born from, altering their appearances from their colours to their different Archetypes. Of course, players can also cross-Hatch with other Keepers to create one-of-a-kind combinations.
