Paris Hilton mobile game makes its way to India

India gets a taste of western ‘culture’

Paris Hilton mobile game makes its way to India

Paris Hilton is all set to launch an assault on Indian culture by releasing her first mobile game into the Indian market.

Paris Hilton's Diamond Quest, developed by Gameloft, promises to "offer a rare look inside the Hollywood celebrity Paris Hilton's universe studded with diamonds and sapphires... it urges the player to hop on board her private jet and travel with her to today's hottest cities on the search for exceptionally rare jewels."

It’s been available in the west for some time now - we reviewed the game back in 2006, and our own Chris James actually quite liked it (though he might not like us reminding him of that).

It’s not the quality of the game itself that’s causing concern, but rather the potential impact on Indian culture and values. Indo-American statesman Rajan Zed is a genuine contender for understatement of the year with his response to the news:

"The West had a lot of wonderful things to offer but everything Western was not always good."
