Risk your finger through tricky mazes in On The Line for iOS

You might want to kiss goodbye to your finger, as you're literally about to put it, errr, On The Line.

Well, it is if you play this endless dodge-'em-up. And you should.

What's unusual and delightful about On The Line is that your finger is turned into the avatar here. Without another on-screen entity about which to worry, it feels almost as if you're finger has crossed the line between this world and the game's.

Each time you're about to start your run through the vertical scrolling mazes, you're asked to hold your finger on a dot for three seconds. After that, the dodging begins.

Can't touch this

Thanks to the impressive low latency, it really does feel like your finger is dodging the deadly walls, spinning paths, and oscillating holes. As the scrolling speeds up, your reactions will be tested. So, yes, try to keep your cool.

If you take your finger off-screen, the game is paused until you re-calibrate for three seconds. Once your finger collides with a wall, your run comes to an end and your survival distance is totted up.

The most disappointing element of On The Line, however, is that you only get to unlock new background colours via your multiple finger-wiggling attempts.

Anyhow, On The Line is available from the App Store right now for 69p / 99c.
