Odyssey Interactive is a game development studio that came into existence fairly recently. Of course, it took the industry by storm from the get-go thanks to it being comprised of talented developers who were former leads for Riot Games. Their first project is a free-to-play cross-platform 3v3 sports game called Omega Strikers. It is mainly inspired by football (soccer for any Americans reading this) with a dash of air hockey.

Omega Strikers sees two teams take the field, each with their own goals to defend. Like football, the idea is to hit the ball into the opponent’s goal. Here’s where the game enters Inazuma Eleven territory, with each character having its own unique ability. This makes gameplay much more interesting as it introduces more strategic elements and PC users seemed to enjoy their time with it during the beta test last year.

We’re now closer to the final product as Omega Strikers will launch on April 27, with loads of new features available on launch. Matches have been divided into three potential rounds interspersed by short breaks where players can upgrade abilities they deem worth bolstering.

The strategy element is also being upped with Arenas being revamped to feature distinctive layouts and environments with new obstacles to steer clear of and buffs to employ. Augment progression will see the addition of new mechanics too including the Striker Affinity system and Core Flip, which is a one-time use skill that gives players the first strike by knocking back opponents.

On top of that, the visuals and animations are being improved to make gameplay more immersive, and a new Quick Chat functionality is being introduced too, alongside collectible cosmetics to chase. A lot more will be available when Omega Strikers launches on PC, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android on April 27th.
