Odin Valhalla Rising best classes for solo play and multiplayer modes

If you want to start playing Odin Valhalla Rising but you don't know what class you should pick, don't worry - that's why we're here. This guide will explain every single class in greater detail and help you pick the best class in Odin: Valhalla Rising, according to your play style.
What's your play style?
Before we take a look at the classes, you need to decide what role you want to fill, and how you usually like to play RPGs - are you someone who likes to be in the centre of the action, hacking and slashing through enemies, or are you more laid-back? Do you like to deal damage, tank the enemies to keep your team safe, or do you prefer to cast curses and impede your enemies' movements? All of these play an important role in picking a class, because in Odin: Valhalla Rising, there are 4 main classes, and then each class has 2 subclasses. After you pick your main class, you will then be able to advance and pick a subclass. That's going to determine your ultimate play style.
All Odin: Valhalla Rising classes
Below are all the classes in Odin: Valhalla Rising, along with the subclasses you can pick when going for that specific class:- Sorcerer (Subclasses: Archmage, Dark Wizard)
- Warrior (Subclasses: Defender, Berserker)
- Rogue (Subclasses: Sniper, Assassin)
- Priest (Subclasses: Saint, Paladin)

I suggest you pick the best class according to your play style, and not based on how a character looks. Each character can be customised, but the skills/style cannot. If you want to have a character that you'll enjoy playing for a long time, it's best you pick something fairly easy and that won't require you to feel forced to join a dungeon, just because.
You want a class that will feel natural, because let me tell you - the game is too beautiful to skip, or to enjoy through the lens of a character you don't like playing.

You can always create multiple characters
If you do end up creating a character you don't particularly enjoy, just go and make another one. You can also do that if you want to try out all the different classes, especially if it's your first time playing an RPG.Below, I delved a little deeper into each of the classes and explained which ones I consider to be the best for something specific:
Solo play & F2P | PvP | Multiplayer
1
Best class for solo play and F2P in Odin: Valhalla Rising

When it comes to solo play, if you are someone like me who usually enjoys RPGs by themselves, you want a class that won't necessarily need to rely on something. The best example is a class that can tank enemies fairly well, deal good damage, and doesn't need a healer at all times.
The best class for solo play, I would argue, is the Paladin. This class is tanky, reliable, always needed (as a tank) in group content, and because of the Priest class, the Paladin subclass also has some healing.
Another good mention here is the Sniper, which is currently one of the best classes in Odin: Valhalla Rising. It's got good damage, and works well in PvP, PvE, and pretty much anything you want.
The Sniper is also the best F2P class right now, since they can farm incredibly well and thus level up faster than, say, a Paladin. The Paladin is slower when it comes to farming.
2
Best class for PvP

For PvP, you want a class that can either be a one-shot wonder or can survive longer than your opponents. That's why the Sniper subclass reigns supreme here, but also a few others that might come as a surprise to some.
The Berserker is great for PvP because of his kit, which makes him a lot stronger the longer a battle goes on. For PvP, it's a great class, but when taking into account all the other content you should clear to get to a decent PvP stage, this subclass is pretty mid-tier. In terms of survivability, it's okay, but not great. The same goes for damage.
The Dark Wizard is incredibly powerful in PvP, and everywhere else, for that matter, but the issue lies with its mana consumption. When you play the Dark Wizard, you want to rotate your skills accordingly to make the most out of your crowd control, but that costs mana, so it's not exactly an easy class to play. You also need good gear, which is hard to come by.
3
Best class for multiplayer

The best multiplayer class to get is the Saint. In multiplayer - and by multiplayer, I mean dungeons and other content where you party up with others - you need a dedicated healer who can keep the entire party alive. The Saint is amazing and in high demand, because most often it is hard to level up in solo play. It's a really great pick if you play with a friend who plays a DPS role.
Archmage and Defender are both great picks here. They're exceptional for organised groups - the Archmage as a DPS, and the Defender as a tank.
And finally, (once again) the Sniper is a great choice. It's a safe class that can deal damage from a safe distance, easy to level up with, and overall just a well-rounded pick.
