Indie publishing specialists Playdigious have announced that their port of Northgard will be heading for iOS devices on April 13th, following the initial announcement last November. Android users will have to wait a little while longer, however, with the game set to arrive on Google Play later this year.

Northgard has sold over 2 million units on PC and console and holds a healthy Metacritic score that ranges from 77-80, depending on the platform. The iOS version will launch with the major updates Ragnarok, Relics and Conquest.

If you're unfamiliar, Northgard is a strategy game based on Norse mythology that sees you taking charge of a Clan of Vikings looking to conquer the titular continent. These lands will be harsh and you'll have to contend with Dire Wolves and Undead warriors among a myriad of other dangers.

It's not just creatures and reanimated corpses to be concerned about either. You'll need to carefully manage your resources to survive the harsh winters that occur in Northgard whilst assigning your Viking Clan to various jobs that include farmer, warrior, sailor and loremaster.

Northgard is available to pre-order now over on the App Store ahead of its release on April 13th. It will be a premium title that will cost $7.99. The game will also arrive on Google Play sometime later this year too.
