Toshiba reveals three quad-core Excite Android tablets
Trio heading to shelves this summer
Toshiba has announced a trio of quad-core Android tablets set to his shelves this summer.
All three tablets - part of its Excite range - will be powered by Android 4.0 (aka Ice Cream Sandwich) operating system as well using NVIDIA quad-core Tegra 3 processors with 1GB of RAM.
Externally, the Excite range will sport two 2- and 5-megapixel front-facing cameras and scratch-proof Gorilla Glass displays.
Three's a crowdToshiba's range consists of the Excite 7.7, 10, and 13, each available in various memory sizes.
First to market is the Excite 10, sporting a 10-inch screen, a micro HMDI port, and a full-sized SD card slot. It will launch on 6 May in the US in 16, 32, and 64GB varieties with prices ranging between $449 and $649.
It will be followed by the dinky Excite 7.7 and Excite 13 on 10 June.
Size mattersUnlike its bigger brothers, the Excite 7.7 will not feature HDMI or full-sized SD card ports and runs a max memory size of 32GB but will feature an AMOLED display and a slim 0.3-inch waistline.
The Excite 13 is the first 13-inch tablet on the market.
With the ability to run 16:9 high-definition content, Toshiba is aiming this giant devices at gamers called it a "personal mobile gaming tablet".
