The next eight days in handheld games
The now-traditional disappointment is over. Time to get back to something we really can be world class at

Now that the Wimbledon and World Cup fever is subsiding, perhaps life can carry on as usual and we can return our focus back to gaming. It is the UK's real success story, after all, as the nation's development studios deliver the goods with Federer-like match-winning consistency.
Thankfully, it would seem, we're not the only ones to have sobered up from all the sporting excess, and video game publishers are once again serving up their wares at a frequency to match Cristiano Ronaldo's diving.
Well, on PSP, at least. Aside from this Friday's Miss Spider and multi-format release, Cars, DS owners only have next week's Puyo Pop Fever on which to spend their pocket money. (But then you're all probably still too engrossed in New Super Mario Bros. to notice anyway.)
PSP owners, on the other hand, are faced with a choice of seven games, ranging from big screen adaptations such as Miami Vice and the Platinum re-release of Harry Potter, to retro fun courtesy of Capcom Classics Collection Remixed, screeching arcade racing action from Burnout Legends, and even a couple of brain teasers in the form of PQ and Carol Voderman's Sudoku.
As wide a range as you'd want to help you get over England's sporting woes, then.
