The mobile game played on... a window?

MindTribe's block-dropping puzzler looks great fun

The mobile game played on... a window?
|

Mobile games don't have to be played on your phone. Several companies have experimented with having games on big jumbotron-style screens in public spaces, controlled by passers by on their phones.

MindTribe's new game isn't quite like that. Instead, the Palo Alto firm has developed a block-dropping puzzle game that's played on a 65-inch plasma screen in the front window of its HQ.

Passers by control the game from their mobiles by dialling a certain number, and then pressing buttons on their phone, with the tones then converted into actions for the game.

At the end, the player takes a photo of the screen, and uploads it to MindTribe's website for posterity. There's a proper (and funny) explanation of how the technology works here, on the company's blog.

More of this sort of thing!
