Tesco announces £6 mobile contract

Wait, what?

Tesco announces £6 mobile contract
|

Tesco has announced a £6 phone contract.

Aimed at the younger market, the contract actually gives you some bang for your buck - £6 a month will net you 100 minutes and unlimited texts, and there’s a minimum sign-up of just a month. You can also get Tesco Clubcard points when you pay your bill.

And the disadvantages? The only real danger, it seems, is in going over your allotted 100 minutes - there’s a whopping 20 pence charge per minute, so chatting for that extra half an hour will essentially double your bill. It’s also a SIM-only deal, so you’ll have to buy your own handset, and it has to be one that’s compatible with Tesco SIM cards.

There’s also a £4 charge for each megabyte you use whilst surfing the internet, which is pretty hefty - especially if you’re using an iPhone or Android handset.

But as long as all you like to do is text, it’s a cheap way to avoid being locked into an 18 month contract.
