Sony whips out firmware v5.01

Addresses problems with v5.00

Sony whips out firmware v5.01

It's been mere weeks since Sony released PSP firmware update v5.00, which enabled users to directly access the PlayStation Store with their PSPs.

Already, follow up firmware is on its way though, according to a post over at the official PlayStation blog.

The post says firmware v5.01 is "coming soon" and will fix a known problem that meant users with larger sized Memory Stick PRO Duos got a message saying there wasn't enough space on their cards to store downloaded content when there was.

The problem apparently occurs when using an 8GB or 16GB memory stick, although some people have reported getting the message using a smaller sized card than that.

Not for much longer though, as it looks like Sony is moving quickly to resolve the issue.

So you can complain about the PSP 3000's prominent interlacing but you can't moan the PlayStation Store isn't working properly. Now, next complaint please...
