No official price cut for Vita in the UK, discounted memory card prices surface in the US
The key word is 'official'

One odd thing that many noticed at Sony's Gamescom press event was the lack of UK pricing in the announcement of the PS Vita's price cut.
It turns out this omission wasn't an oversight.
Dealspwn is reporting that there is no official price cut for the PS Vita in the UK, and cites an unnamed Sony spokesperson who noted "we don't set recommended retail prices (RRP)... Therefore its [sic] probably best to check a few retailers in order to find the best price, as this is likely to slightly vary between them."
Meanwhile, Zavvi.com has already dropped the price on the Vita down £86 to £143.99 - although it remains to be seen if other retailers will follow suit.
Interestingly, the Sony spokesperson went on to say that "nothing has been mentioned" about memory cards - so there's still hope for an official UK price cut there. We've contacted SCEE for clarification, and will update this story when we hear back.
In the cardsSpeaking of memory cards, a post on the US PlayStation Blog listed the new, discounted prices of the Vita's memory cards which should take effect immediately.
- 4GB Card - $14.99 (originally $19.99)
- 8GB Card - $19.99 (originally $29.99)
- 16GB Card - $39.99 (originally $59.99)
- 32GB Card - $79.99 (originally $99.99)
If you're looking to pick up a new, cheaper card this evening, GameStop already lists the discounted prices for the cards on its site while online retailer Amazon.com has yet to update its pricing.
Target still lists the original price for all memory cards, while Walmart is still matching Amazon's pricing.
We expect most North American retailers will follow GameStop's lead with the updated pricing soon.
